Credit Counseling Solves Debt Management Issues According to ChristiaNet Poll
Houston, TX (PRWeb) January 22, 2007 -- ChristiaNet.com (http://www.christianet.com), the world's largest Christian portal with twelve million monthly page loads, asked readers to participate in a new poll by answering the question, "Should Christians use credit counseling services?" The results of this poll show that the majority of readers agree that Christian counseling services might help Believers learn to manage their finances productively. One participant stated, "To avoid the bondage of credit reliance it is wise to gain a better understanding of the truth about living with credit." (http://www.christianet.com/creditcounseling/)
Out of 245 participants polled, 172 responded "yes" to the survey question. Some participants felt that it is good to seek out credit counseling services to gain knowledge and learn how to live on a budget. Debt management must be addressed when finances are out of control and monthly payments to creditors exceed monthly income. An informed reader commented, "We took a Christian counseling class to learn how to better manage money even though we had a good idea how. We learned some very vital things to use in our finances."
Comments by participants suggest that even those who think they know how to manage their financial accounts may need help with debt management. President Bill Cooper, with ChristiaNet offered some advice to readers, "Credit counseling services may be able to offer some tips on how to save on interest and other fees that are charged by creditors." As one reader pointed out, reminders about good money management may help to avoid financial disaster in the future. Sometimes just making some simple changes in spending habits can help Believers to avoid debt problems.
Twenty-four readers answered "no" and 49 were unsure about the survey question. Comments from this group include using God's Word as a reference for all problems and not to become overwhelmed with debt in the first place. The Holy Spirit is Counselor for all Believers and the Word of God does offer guidance where needed. However, if a Believer has been through circumstances out of their control it may be helpful to seek insight about debt management from other Christians. God comforts His children so we can comfort others. Believers should strive to help one another whenever possible through the gifts of love and compassion.
