Fieldstone Alliance Adds Consulting Strength in Economic Development, Philanthropy

St. Paul, MN (PRWEB) October 12, 2007 -- Fieldstone Alliance today announced that Gordon Goodwin, an expert in urban and rural community economic development, has joined the organization as a Principal Consultant.

"Gordon Goodwin brings rich experience as an independent consultant to nonprofits and communities, as a foundation program manager, as a public policy researcher, in community economic development, and as a leader in forging partnerships across sectors. We are excited that he has joined our group, and look forward to his leadership in areas that are vital to the performance of the nonprofit sector."

As a Principal Consultant, Goodwin expects to consult on strategic planning, alliances and partnerships, policy reform, public accountability for philanthropy and the development of innovative community economic revitalization efforts.

ABOUT GORDON GOODWIN

Gordon Goodwin has been involved in nonprofits, foundations, and community building for 20 years. His rich and deep experience encompasses key positions in some of the nonprofit sector's leading institutions, including Northwest Area Foundation's Ventures Program; Rural Development and Finance Corporation; The Aspen Institute; and Corporation for Enterprise Development. In addition, Goodwin operated his own consultancy, Development Solutions, which helped public, private, and nonprofit organizations collaborate to improve economic opportunity and quality of life in rural communities and central cities.

Goodwin holds a masters in urban planning from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is Vice Chair of the Board of the Heartland Center for Leadership Development, headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, and author of Strengthening Community-Based Housing in the Mid South Delta (Housing Assistance Council, 2001).
