3M Releases New Version of ChartView and ESA for Improved Document Management
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) January 15, 2008 -- 3M Health Information Systems has released new versions of 3M? ChartView? Software and 3M? Electronic Signature Authentication (ESA) Software with new easy-to-use features that streamline workflow, improve productivity, and promote more efficient document management. 3M ChartView Software and 3M ESA Software, key components of 3M's comprehensive electronic patient record (EPR) solution (http://www.softmed.com/products/das/index.aspx), provide instant, secure access to the patient chart with the ability to sign the chart from any workstation on a hospital network, via the Internet, or from remote locations.
The updated applications merge both Web and desktop versions into a single comprehensive platform, offering a new enhanced look and feel to the desktop with user-friendly Windows® features. The advanced document mark-up tools, including check-marks, text boxes, and Post-it® Notes, included in the new 3M ESA Software empower providers to do more than just review and sign scanned documents.
The software upgrade takes advantage of the latest Microsoft Smart Client and .NET technologies to provide even greater deployment flexibility and consistent end user experience. The upgrade also allows for the seamless integration of 3M ChartView Software, 3M ESA Software, and 3M? VoiceScript? Software, a dictation management application.
"These new versions of 3M ChartView Software and 3M ESA Software underscore 3M's commitment to providing the most feature-rich EPR products to the healthcare industry," said Ray Terrill, Senior Vice President, 3M Health Information Systems. "By offering integrated tools and features that automate the entire documentation process via a single interface, we can help our customers enhance overall patient care."
3M ChartView Software provides the hospital care team with simultaneous access to the complete patient record, including transcribed documents, digital audio dictation files (with 3M VoiceScript Software), scanned images, photos and patient information interfaced from third-party systems. The application offers flexible, customized views of documents for different users, physicians, or departments, and is fully integrated with other components of 3M's total solution.
3M ChartView Software and 3M ESA Software were originally developed and marketed by SoftMed Systems, Inc., which was acquired by 3M in December 2006. More information about 3M's comprehensive EPR solution is available at www.3Mhis.com or by calling 800-367-2447.
