Without the statistics consulting necessary in a management firm, people will have a hard time managing people and their resources. The normal distribution curve is necessary because it analyzes the probability of success and the probabilities of failure in certain management decisions. Without a firm understanding of the normal distribution curve, you are going to have a hard time becoming a manger in a large firm. Even in small firms, management decisions are still based on probabilities. Are you going to push through with a certain project if there is only a thirty percent chance of making it successful? Are you going to risk everything else and put yourself on the line in this case? Management decisions are highly based on the rules of statistics and if you are planning to manage something later in life, you need some sort of statistics consulting or statistical consulting.
Even with hard data, you will need it analyzed as a manager. For example, if you would like to find out which of your employees is not performing well then you may get data of their work hours, their production, and their time offs. If you would like to find out which employee should win the employee of the month award then your management decisions will be based on data that has to be analyzed. You can not simply give that award out of your favouritism because all your employees will not like you if you do that.
There are a lot of statistical consulting jobs that you have to avail of especially if you are a manager. It is going to be difficult to manage a firm without analyzing the data there. If you would like to manage a firm properly then you have to do some sort of data analysis to keep your firm afloat and competitive. Without a firm understanding of your company?s data, you may be left behind the competition.
